Real Madrid Easily Advances to Copa del Rey Round of 16 with 5-0 Victory

Real Madrid cruised into the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey with a dominant 5-0 win over fourth-division side Deportivo Minera in the Round of 32. The goals came from Federico Valverde (5), Eduardo Camavinga (13), Arda Güler (28, 88), and Luka Modrić (55).

The Royal Club took control of the match early, securing a three-goal lead in the first half. With a lineup led by Modrić, Valverde, and Camavinga, Real Madrid demonstrated their readiness for their upcoming clash against Real Mallorca in the Spanish Super Cup semifinals, to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti opted to rest several key players, including Thibaut Courtois and Antonio Rudiger, while still maintaining a strong attacking presence with Brazilian forwards Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo, French star Kylian Mbappé, and English midfielder Jude Bellingham on the bench.

Ancelotti also gave opportunities to players who have had limited minutes this season, such as Brazilian Endrick, Güler, and Moroccan Ibrahim Díaz. Early in the second half, he made tactical substitutions, bringing on Dani Ceballos for Valverde and later introducing Vinícius, Mbappé, and Lucas Vázquez for Modrić, Camavinga, and Lorenzo at the 63rd minute.

The match began with an early goal from Valverde in the fifth minute. Camavinga doubled the lead with a header from a Fran García assist (13), and Güler added a third with a left-footed strike from inside the box (28). Díaz was denied a goal by the left post in the 52nd minute, but Modrić made it 4-0 with a right-footed finish from inside the area (55).
